Only Guru's Grace
Guru grant me the vision of the inner heart!
Blessed Lord of boundless love, I am at Your feet: (2)
To my life Your holy light please impart! . . . . . . . . . . . .
Despite having these two eyes, I am totally blind
And I can't discern the road to the Divine.
Every moment of my life I grope in the dark. (2)
I am crying to have Your helpful spark! . . . . . . . . . . .
Pilgrimages numerous I have made on this earth
And in all the holy rivers did I bathe,
And in every temple candles did I start: (2)
Yet like two river banks, we are apart . . . . . . . . . . .
I have always lived my life according to scripture
And the pain of yoga practice I endured.
In devotion sanity did from me depart. (2)
Yet my mind's distractions keep their upstart! . . . . . . . .
What can I ask for, since I am truly dumbspoken?
Having no instructions, my speech is broken!
How can this poor sinner claim that I'm in Your heart? (2)
Merciful "Kripalu" my strength Thou art! . . . . . . . . . . .
