Gestures of Krishna

My mind melted at the sight of Your dancing posture!

This poor helpless heart of mine aches with pain,

You've captured it with just one gesture! . . . . . . .

Krishna on Your forehead a tilak display,

When You laugh on Your cheeks a dimple does play.

You have captured my mind the whole day

When You walk with that attractive cute sway!

You make magic with a tiny stick of bamboo,

Krishna! Krishna! Love You portray! . . . . . . . . . . . .

On Your head are tendril oh so curly!

Around Your neck are flowers very lovely.

Circles on Your earlobes shine so sparkly.

At Your feet the ankle bells chime gladly.

A peacock feather flickers a little smile

To be on top of Your head Krishna! . . . . . . . . . . . . .

My heart claps with joy to see the beauty

Of Your face and body grace so pretty.

Your eyes lined with black takes one glance only:

Seeing this it stops my mind completely,

Just one gesture is enough to captivate me,

Krishna! Krishna! Please don't do more! . . . . . . . . .

I dedicate my whole self to Your pure love,

And tie this knot so it will break never.

My desire is to obtain Your mercy,

Once glance from You, there is nothing better!

My Lord, my heaven in now right here with You,

"Kripalu: I am Yours forever . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Viniti Muniji spent many days with Leela in 1983 going over each bhajan with word for word translations and then explaining any grey areas. Later after returning to America Leela crafted these bhajans to fit the meaning and melodies.
