Viniti Muniji spent many days with Leela in 1983 going over each bhajan with word for word translations and then explaining any grey areas. Later after returning to America Leela crafted these bhajans to fit the meaning and melodies.

I am blushing
Guru, when You look at me my cheeks blush a bright red!
I'm ashamed to look at You, my eyes bow down.
I'm even scared of You, beloved! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
It is midnight before to sleep I've gone;
That is why to rise early takes so long.
The shouting of the housewife is like a gong;
Hearing this my mind burns a fires so strong.
Laziness floods every square inch of my body,
Guruji, all my pride has foregone! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Every time with mala I start praying,
In this house a child begins crying.
Then his mother starts up with the spanking,
And to him with sharp words she is shouting.
My mind can not focus even a small fraction
And hymns feel like a burden to sing! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Guru, when I try so hard to meditate
Endless thoughts here in my mind do agitate.
My mind to this worldly life will rotate:
This attachment makes me a maya inmate!
I know that Guru service is the only answer,
But even for this, my time won't wait! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Before me sets a banquet for my dinner:
So many tasty items for this sinner.
My wife's fine food does make this mouth water:
It smells so good that up will go my hunger.
With one meal, I eat twice as much as I should
To try to fast is a disaster! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
My loving wife has beauty I can't deny;
Yet for other wives, I have a wild eye.
I am really a selfish and low guy,
It takes no time for me to tell a white lie.
Guru "Kripalu" Your teachings I ignore
And for this my heart with pain does cry! . . . . . . . . . .
