Compassionate Master
This poor humble devotee has come to You,
Oh Great Guru, Master.
Always keep me safe in Your holy feet,
Oh Great Guru, Master. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
You're the most high pilgrimage place,
And as pure as the holiest river.
Please remove all disturbances from my mind -
Oh Great Guru, Master . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I have read all the books of scriptures,
I've crammed my brain with immense fervor,
And yet passion has not left me behind -
Oh Great Guru, Master . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
With discipline, I've built a hedge,
And I've fasted in penance quite proper,
And yet all of my troubles have not gone away -
Oh Great Guru, Master . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I've tried techniques by the billions,
To clean my mind of its disorder
And yet it stays black as it's clogged with dirt -
Oh Great Guru, Master . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Lord "Kripalu" is my refuge,
Of my sins only He is destroyer.
Oh great Ocean of Mercy, have mercy on me -
Oh Great Guru, Master . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
